I am trying to print via wifi from my IPad to a 6500 709n All in One printer

I downloaded the HP sprint app to my I Pad, but it does not discover my wireless 6500 709n All in One printer. The HP web page states the printer is compatible. Thanks

What router are you using?  Cycle power on it and try again.

Re: I am trying to print via wifi from my IPad to a 6500 709n All in One printer

I tried turning off the router and the HP I Pad printer app. Still did not discover my 6500 AIO printer. It is requesting an e mail address for the printer. How might I establish an e mail address as an option? Thanks

Oh, your printer does not have an email address (it is not an e-printer like the 6500A).

Exactly what app are you using?  Can you print to the printer from your computer?

Re: I am trying to print via wifi from my IPad to a 6500 709n All in One printer

Thank you. My printer works fine with all my laptops. I thought this 6500 709n printer would print from a I Pad after I checked the HP help page, but it sounds like it is not compatible with the HP wireless app for I Pads. Is that right. Appreciate you taking time to advise me

No, it is compatible with the HP printing app, but not the built-in AirPrint app.  What router are you using?

It is a motorola router. Do you need the number? Thanks very much.

Re: I am trying to print via wifi from my IPad to a 6500 709n All in One printer

Let's set a static IP address for the printer:

- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you don't know what this range is, change the last digits in the printer's current IP address after the last '.' to 250
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway and first DNS. Leave the second one blank.
- Click 'Apply'.

Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.

After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.
