I can print but I can't scan.

I have a Photosmart C4795 connected to my Toshiba laptop using Windows 7, OEM. When my laptop is connected with a USB, everything works as it should. When wirelessly connected to my laptop, I can print but I can't scan the hard copy of a document that I place on the glass. I can scan a file from a different program such as Windows Fax and Scan. I ran the Network Diagstic, it passed. I ran the Scan Utility, it passed. What now?

Power on the scanner, and remove the USB cable from the scanner.

Re-install the scanning software and re-connect the USB cable ONLY when the software asks you and not before.

REBOOT the computer and it will detect the scanner.
