I have a HP c4780 printer broken, it has 13 months since i buy it, can we have waranty o goodwill?

The printer was bought in 12/11/2009, we found out it was not working the 21/11/2010 we took it to the shop we bouhgt it, and they told us it was imposible that we get a waranty, they started check in the printer, after 6 months they have told us they cant repair it because the part that is broken does not exist to replace. We are really concerned because we use just 3 times the multifuntion printer the original cartridges are about 80%. We would like to have a goodwill from HP.
