I have a HP Photosmart all-in-one C4750 printer, a HP Pavillion dv6-3243cl Laptop, windows 7 operating system, and a Linksys wireless G router. The wireless is enabled, the printer is on but the control panel says the printer is offline. Before this occured I occasionally had trouble scanning. When I tried to check my ink levels I received a message that the wireless wasn't connected?? A few days ago I changed the color cartridge and when I printed the alignment page it wouldn't scan. So I knew the scan problem. I tried to print some Troubleshooting instructions and it wouldn't print. That's when I found it was offline and I haven't been able to get it back on line. I know this sounds confusing but I'm not very tech savvy. Please try to hekp. I'm beginning to think it might be easier and faster to just uninstall the printer and start all over from square 1 I still have the original disc if that's any help.

I did everything you suggested and downloaded and saved everything I could. When I insert the Software CD the instructions do not appear on the monitor.

Go to Start > All Programs > HP > [your printer model] and run the uninstaller to uninstall the HP software.
Restart your PC.
Download and install the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.

Well, I uninstalled my printer. Then I tried the next step. and my product didn't appear so I'm at a standstill. I've tried the instruction given ?????? times. Where do I go from here? Now I have no printer at all. I really need specific instructions. I struggle with technical language.

What router are you using? Before you start the software installation, restart the router by pulling its power cable momentarily.
Your printer is not connected to your wireless network. The software will allow you to connect the printer back to your wireless network. It is normal that the HP software will not find your printer on the network because it is not!
So, follow the instructions that the HP software gives you. At some point it will ask you to connect a USB cable between your PC and printer so that the PC can communicate your network info to the printer.

That is not a concern. As long as there is an ethernet cable going from the one unique WAN port on the back of the router to your modem, all is OK.
Restart the router by pulling its power cable momentarily. Give it a minute to restart, then try installing the printer again.

I restarted the router, pushed the download button, Pop up said "System cannot find the file specified". Next--Installation not successful. Followed steps for error report, report sent. Followed steps for Cleanup progress. When cleanup finished report was sent to my computer, then another pop up---"HP Installer/Uninstaller stopped
working".------Now what?????
