Re: No wireless connectivity

No, HP has tech support, but these forums are not it.  This is a user forum where users help each other.  I am here to lend a helping hand.

This is how to contact HP support: www.hp.com/go/totalcare (click on Printers & Monitors, there is a phone number on the resulting page).

Re: No wireless connectivity

Hi

Same problem as previous poster

Purchased a Photsmart 5510e this morning, from PC World (UK) Ran setup OK and can print and scan by USB but the Printer is not connecting via wireless Network in spite of being Visible on the network and "allegedly" using the latest version of the Driver etc (24.20) It reports printer not connected.

I have already done a complete uninstall/reinstall and used the "removal tool" downloaded from HP. so what is the issue here. (windows 7 64 O/S)

Download and run this utility: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-104282-2&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...

What does it say?

Re: No wireless connectivity

Hi

Had an "online" chat with HP in the USA last evening (I am in the UK, so there is a 6hr time difference). The guy tried, but the best I could get was to be able to SCAN wirelessly. but not PRINT (error message printer not available etc). He advised me to contact HP Europe, (who I cannot find!!) in the end. (I suspect the poor guy was at a loss himself?)

I have Uninstalled the programme twice now and used the registry "scubber" (download from HP)

This Morning (6-30am). I tried another computer, different make, same Network etc; BUT running Vista 64bit, as oposed to Win 7 64bit. and I have a result. the VISTA computer will both PRINT and Scan.

So Problem would seem to be with the (driver?) on windows 7 (64bit?) . I am about to go  on online to Microsoft and see it their is a "fix" there?

Any other suggestions?

Pete

Re: No wireless connectivity

With the help of an HP agent, yesterday we went to Print and Scan DR. to resolve a wireless connectivity issue because my HP Officejet Pro8600 wouldn't scan or print. The P/S Dr. worked fine. However, today I tried to print and scan and the same thing happened. Without the help of an HP agent I went to the Dr. once again and did the download and it fixed the problem once again. Yesterday, when the agent asked me if I was using Vista 32 or 64 bit, I didn't know, and there is an option in the DR. process where you can just select Vista.

How do I fix this problem once and for all? I don't want to have to go to the DR. everytime I need to print or scan

Thanks,

Rick

Re: No wireless connectivity

To find out if you have 32 or 64 go to Start > Right-click Computer > Properties.

It could be that your Vista is not well (Vista never was very stable and can get worse with time).  You may want to consider upgrading to Win7 or at least re-loading your Vista OS.
