OfficeJet J6480: So Do I Always Need To Install the Basic Driver?

I recently purchased a OfficeJet J6480, and I have installed the full feature drivers on all my computers(see signature) and am successfully printing wirelessly. Now my question is since it is already being Shared through File and Printer sharing, do I need to install the Basic driver say if a friend came over with his laptop so he can print wirelessly? I know the only other way to rememdy this is to just go and turn on my desktop/laptop and to use the already shared printer through there. Any other remedies.

My Laptop: Dell Inspiron 2200
Mom's Laptop: Acer Aspire 6530

You should not have to install the basic driver, however, your friend will have to have at least the basic driver installed on their laptop in order to print.  

 

Probably more headache than it is worth.
