On a daily bases our laptops lose connection with the printer. The printer appears to still be on the network from viewing it's settings, and the AirPort configuration shows the printer connected. Printing can take minutes before it starts at times.
using Mac OS X - 10.6.8. Printer shows that both firmware and drivers are most current. Always get a network connection manager. Last time I checked out on-line support they told me to turn everything off. Do a hard reset on printer. Uninstall drivers on MacBook. Then reinstall drivers and then turn on printer. They said to do this every time I had the issue. I don't have time to do this 2-3 times a day. Scanning has the same issues.
I even assigned the printer a static IP address on the WAP, and then in the printer config. Helped for one session of printing only.
Help!!
Phil

57 views and no replies? Does this mean I didn't explain the issue well enough, or it's just a known issue with the product, or ....?

Phil,
I run on Windows and I started having this problem about 3 weeks ago. All was good before then. I even returned and got a new one, still same problem. It works for about an hour then way slow after refreshing a few times or just won't print, and like you, printer says all is connected and online.
Come on guys, a little help please!
Matt

I have submitted a very similar issue "6500A Plus Network Lost".
I am watching the responses you get to see if they resolve my query also.
My scenario is more in line with Matt's, being Windows based, but the outcome is the same... No Wireless connection.

I endured 60+ minutes on the phone and on-line with HP Support only to have my case bumped up to a higher level of support with a comment that I would hear back within 2-4 days. That was weeks ago. I have since re-configured my entire network and now have the printer connected via ethernet cable to my time capsule. I can print wirelessly through the time capsule, but no scanning abilities which I use frequently.
I'll try to re-open my case when I have a few hours to waste and see where I get.
Not happy with HP.

Thanks for the link. I've done all of these things, and then some. Still no luck. Still waiting on contact from HP Support!
