Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless only prints double-sided documents

I am experiencing the following problem with my Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless Printer. I am only able to print double-sided documents. Every time I try to print single sided, I receive a message that says "Media tray needs to be filled," which is not the case. The paper try is  full (not beyond the limit line). I have checked on several occasions for paper jams, but I have found none. 

I have been able to print the test page several times without problems and like I said, I have been able to print double-sided documents. 

Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't know if I should uninstall and/or reinstall the software. The operating system that I am using is Macintosh Snow Leopard 10.6.2.

I am experiencing exactly the same problems. In addition, if you print the test pages, it takes the single sheets without problem.

Have you received any solution? Appreciate any help.

In a print dialog box (after File > Print or Cmd-P), use the lower pull-down menu to select Layout.  In the Layout menu you will see the settings for two-sided printing.  Select what you want and print a page.  This should be remembered as your permanent setting for that printer from that Mac.
