Re: P1102w and AirPrint

Hi - I had the same problem - you need to update the software that comes with the cd:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=bi-80684-6&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...

Run the installation again - the HTML utility will now work. Go into wireless, unselect Ad Hoc and enter your wireless network name/pw. After your router sees the printer, uninstall it from Print/Fax settings, unplug the USB cord and click on + Add Printer - you should see it there.

Re: P1102w and AirPrint

Yeah - I have that exact software installed. Never had a problem with the HTML utility, it was HP's own tool that I could never get to launch. The one embedded into their driver software that shows up in the Settings applet. I have other HP prtinters on my network and their software works just fine. It's just the 1102w that is broken.

Re: P1102w and AirPrint

I had success (I didn't get error when I brought up the html config page) when I downloaded the new install that originally comes with the DVD/CD - look in support at HP to get the latest. After downloading and installing, you should be able to change your settings and have air print work. If not, respond to this post (HP notifies whoever is involved here) and I will look for what I needed to enter to make things work correctly. What I am referring to is the Mac install, where the HP instructions couldn't be more horrible or inadequate.

Re: P1102w and AirPrint

Hi,

The HTML Config error have nothing to do with the printer firmware, but related with the installed software.

Only the latest published software is fully compatible with Lion and resolve this issue.

Please try the following Steps:

Step one: Repair the Disk Permissions

1. Open the the Applications folder.
2. Go to the Utilities folder.
3. Double-click on Disk Utility.
4. Select the hard drive containing the boot volume.
5. Go to the First Aid tab and select Repair Disk Permissions.
Note: This process may take several minutes depending on the Mac and amount of permissions that need to be repaired. The Progress Log will indicate when the proccess has been completed.

Step two: Reset the Printing System:

If you have several printers installed, I would suggest to try and remove the P1102w queue only by clicking the minus button under Print & Fax and then skip to step tree.

*Be aware that resetting the printer system will remove any existing print queue and reset any customized driver settings.

Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences .
Select Print & Scan.
Right-click (or Ctrl + click) your product in the Printers list in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system .
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type your user Name and Password .
Click OK . The printing system resets.

Step three: Install the latest software

Please let me know of any change,

Shlomi

Re: P1102w and AirPrint

Hi,

Having trouble getting to the DL link for latest firmware for W7 64bit.

Each time I follow the link it can't find the page.

Could you please post a direct link or direct me to where else I could be looking?

Thanks..

Re: P1102w and AirPrint

After upgrading firmware and driver of the printer (see HP support site) nothing happens? Your iPad/iPhone still says "No AirPrint Printer found"?

Just try to switc- off and then switch-on your iOS device.

It worked for me!

Re: P1102w and AirPrint

After many failures, i tried connecting to another AP which supports only B/G Wireless Signals, voila! it works like a charm.

Conclusion: Printer does not support Wireless-N

That is true. According to the spec sheet:

http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/store_access.do?template_type=product_detail&product_code...

this printer supports WiFi 802.11b/g.

Re: P1102w and AirPrint

Having no luck on the Lion, went to the Snow Leopard machine. Hair ball there too.

Off to the PC running Vista. That was no help.  That machine is going back to Staples.
