I have all of a sudden lost my wireless printer. It won't even connect to my router at all anymore.
It does however find my router and it's mac address, but it won't get an ip address from it.
I reset the router and even the unplugged the printer. but it just won't connect.
Is there special way to reset the printer to factory defaults?
I used the menu to restore factory defaults with no success.
I made sure I have no encrption on my router and it is unprotected.
I even tried WPS, but it's not connected to so it doesn't work at all.
I tried manually setting my ssid, ip, gateway, and they fail completely and won't even get assigned at all.
I turned wireless for 5 minutes and renabled it with no luck either.
I uninmstalled the old drivers and installed new ones and it won't find the printer at all and it runs me through a long diagnosis that never finds anything either.
If anyone has a clue, let me know.

From the front of the printer: Setup > Network > Wireless Network Test. What does the test say about the printer's wireless radio?

OK, does it show that it is connected to your network with a valid IP address (not 169.254.x.x or 0.0.0.0)?
What router are you using? Can you tell me about its configuration? For example is 802.11g enabled? Is MAC filtering disabled, etc?

It finds my router, but says my IP address is 0.0.0.0 and show 5 bars like it is connected. I try to manually put in an IP address, but it comes back as no link.
I'm using an Asus router (RT-N56U) it's a dual band A/B/G/N router. Only the 2.4GHz is enabled. no WEP or any encryption is enabled.
I currently have my old Linksys WRT54G v2 connected and I get the same issue. It has MAC Cloning disabled. I see no other reference to MAC. I just found a wireless MAC Filter and it's disabled.
I also tried installing the Asus install CD when last connected and no changes. I also upgraded firmware from 1014 to 1017f on the Asus. All my PCs find the internet just fine and all show up in my client list. The printer doesn't show up in client list.
Let me know if you need more details.

OK, you may be very close. Just after connecting the printer to the router, turn the printer off and then back on.

not sure what you mean. My printer never connects to the router. The wireless LED on the printer doesn't stop blinking.
when running the wireless network wizard and it fails, I tried to turn off the printer and back on, but nothing.
I also tried disabling wireless on printer then re-enabling it with no success.
not sure what else to try.

OK, understood.
Let's check some more router settings. Is 802.11g enabled in some way? What channel is it set to (set it to 11 if not already).
Try restarting the router just before connecting the printer.

I manually set 802.11g manually. It was on auto.
I manually set channel 11. It also, was on auto.
I tried restarting the router just before running the wireless network wizard with no changes.
I reconnected the Asus and retried everything with no difference.
The printer is now locking up randomly and randomly laggs between menus when it is working. It even lkocked up while trying the WPS setup at 1:47. I think it was trying to connect, but I think maybe it didn't like some setting and crashed.
Is there a reset button somewhere to clear out the BIOS on the printer?
It acts like the fw is whacky. or maybe it needs a new firmware update?
Thanks for all of your help.

If you can get the printer connected and enable Web Services, it will check for firmware updates on its own. Have you done that, yet or can you even get that far?
You found a way to reset the printer. Let's also do this: Setup > Network > Restore Network Defaults.
On the Wireless Test Report or during Wireless Setup Wizard, does it show multiple wireless networks (like your neighbor's)?
Another way to reset is with the printer ON, pull the power cord out of the back for 30 seconds or so.
