Photosmart Premium C410 slows down home network....

I have just bought a Photosmart Premium and am really pleased with - It is working perfectly and prints from all necessary computers / iPad's and iPhones! However, the speed of my internet connection drops dramatically when the printer is on.  Can I do anything about this? I don't have the fastest of broadband connections as I am some way form my exchange - but it was definitely better before the printer was installed.  My kids are turning the printer off now to be able to use the internet.  Can anyone help - is there a solution?
