Re: Video for Installing the HP All-in-One in a Wireless Network (Infrastructure Mode)

I have an hp 5510 brand new. I want to rpint wirelessly. HOWEVER, I am deployed with the US Military and live in Military Lodging with WiFI Internet that I cannot access and when I am at the office I cannot access the DOD internet. I want to print from my Windows 7 Laptop wireless and maybe share this printer with my associates. It almost like: I need to set up a wireless print network with an HP 5510 and I cannot use the internet.

Sounds like the problem I will have if I try to do the same thing you did.  My printer is installed to my desktop with a USB cable and I want to use the same printer with my laptop using wireless.  Anxious to see if your problem gets resolved.

Re: Video for Installing the HP All-in-One in a Wireless Network (Infrastructure Mode)

I have a photsmart 5514, its on my wireless network, I can ping it, web into it and print from a wired pc.  works great, I tried to add another pc that is wired on my same network and the install CD was loaded and it sees the printer , when I select it, it keeps telling me "failed to locate printer" yet it shows the correct IP, but will not finish.

Both PC's are running Windows XP

This is for Windows XP; my system is Windows 7, 64 bit; will this work for me with a HP Officejet 4500 All in One?

Re: Video for Installing the HP All-in-One in a Wireless Network (Infrastructure Mode)

Please Help!!! I've talked to HP Support countless times, with no success. I have an HP Envy 111 e-All-in-One Printer. I've successfully connected it to my network, through the wizard that's provied on the printer. Installed the software, and nada, my laptop can't detect my printer through the network. Here are the things I've tried to solve this issue:

1.) I found the printers IP by printing out the configuration page. Tried going to the EWS page on my laptop, and every time it says connection timed out.

2.) Reset EVERYTHING.  Turned off router, turned off printer, turned off laptop. Then turned on router, printer & laptop.

3.) Tried adding printer to network through START> DEVICES AND PRINTERS.

All the above was provided to me through HP Support (Online Chat), with no luck. So I am open for ANYTHING! Thank you in advance.

Re: Video for Installing the HP All-in-One in a Wireless Network (Infrastructure Mode)

I have gone through all of the steps and through every scenerio that HP has sent me through. I had installed the printer software with the cd and in the beginning it was connected to my computer and router network. When it came time to change to the ink cartridges after the initial installation, that's when all of my trouble began. I have uninstalled/installed several times. I have installed software online from hp, this video being the latest. Needless to say, I am frustrated. There is still a disconnect between my computer and the printer. My printer works on it's own through my wireless router, as does my pc through the same router, just not on the same network all together. As I said before, it did initially in the beginning.

This was a helpful video.
However,I don't know how to go about finding my WEP? passphrase. I purchased my own router and set up network just for our home computers, but have no record of passphrasing it ??
