Vista, XP and a HP Photosmart 7760, on a wired network

I have two HP desktop machines running vista 64 bit and one machine running XP. The printer is connected to one of the Vista machines and both Vista machines can use it. The XP machine can find it but when it tries to connect it tells me "the server for the HP Photosmart 7760 series does not have the correct printer driver installed. Is it talking about the Vista machine or the XP machine? Does anyone know what I need to do to get the XP machine to use the printer that is on the Vista machine?

You are probably "Sharing" the printer from vista, in other words, you are using the vista printer driver to print, the XP machine is probably send jobs assuming using XP driver.

I don't know if you can install XP driver on the XP machine to print to the printer on the vista machine, but I would try this first since that is the current setup.

Another solution is to use a network adaptor and convert the printer to a network printer.

Thanks for the answer, but I gave up on that and got a HP J6480 all in one and everything was great untill October when I upgraded our pc's to Windows 7 not realizing that HP would not have drivers untill 01/2010 so for the last few months I could not scan anything into my pc. Well the new drivers and software came out and I was able to get it installed on one machine but I have had nothing but treoubles on my pc and have talked to three different people and still can't get it to install. I managed to wipe out all of my restore points so now I can't even roll back to a spot before all the crap happened. Do you know where windows 7 stores its system restore points?
