We have a new Airport Extreme, connected with a cable modem, and an HP 7660 Photosmart printer connected to the Airport with a USB cable. Everything worked fine, then we move the cable and the modem-- now we can print through the USB cable, the laptop can get on line, and the printer shows up in the list of printers in the System Preferences. But we can't print wirelessly. We're running Snow Leopard on a Mac laptop. We've tried disconnecting and reconnecting various cables in various combinations.
When we try to print we get the following message in the Print Que box "Unable to send 8192 bytes of print data! (USB write error) "
Now what?
thanks for any help!

Shut down the modem and router. Start the modem - wait - start the router - wait - try to print.
If that does not work, delete the printer in Sys Prefs, Print & Fax (minus sign) and re-add it (plus sign).

Is your Mac on the right network (not a neighbor's by mistake)?
If that is OK, let's make sure the Airport can see the printer. Open Airport Utility (Applications, Utilities), choose the Airport in question and click Manual Setup.
Click on the printer icon on the top row and see if the Airport thinks it is there.
Next, download the latest Snow Leopard drivers from here.

thanks again.
I'm on my network.
The printer shows up in the Airport utility
I updated Snow Leopard only a day or two before this happened. I worked fine after. Should I do that again?
Thanks

Oh, did you update TO Snow Leopard (from Leopard or Tiger) or update Snow Leopard (to 10.6.1)?
Go ahead and download the drivers from the link I provided above. It won't hurt.

I had exactly the same problem, and tried everything recommended here. Then I discovered that the printer had been paused by another computer on the network: I cleared the pause and now everything works perfectly again.
