I have tried to reconfigure, have deleted and re-added the printer, locked the print/fax preferences, and still are unable to get the printer to respond to a print order. When I re-added last time and configured, a test sheet was successfully generated, but still the print page states that the printer in not properly configured

From the front of the printer: Setup > Wireless > Restore defaults.
From the same Wireless menu, run the Wireless Setup Wizard.
Now, on your Mac reset the printing system:
- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

When I go into wireless on the printer, there iss no restore default. When I go into Setup Wizard, the network is found but it asks for the WPA passphrase, which I think is the password we set up on the network, but it says that it is incorrect even though I tried several times and know its correct!

Sorry, its titled "Reset Wireless".
Your printer may not take a WPA2 password. Change the router password to a WPA type and retry.
Remember, the password is case-sensitive.

WPA is the type of encryption. You set it and the password you want to use with it onWh your router settings. Do you know how to change your router settings?
What brand/model router is it?
