Wireless connectivity problems with a hp deskjet 3070a - works when wired, not wireless

Ok. You are still genius...but it has stopped working after the first print. Says it is 'offline again'. Printer says connected - excellent. Settings-->Print&Fax says printer is Idle with the green light graphic beside it. Looks as if it should be working but as soon as i send a document for print it says offline. ?? Um.. help again.

I will print a test page from the internal settings page in my browser. So there is a connection there. Just won't print from any other application.No idea why.

OK, I still think its your router.  Can you change its channel to 1 or 11?

Also, let's reset the printing system:

- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

Thanks for responding again. I have changed it's channel to 1, then followed your steps. Once again it printed the first time straight after I added the printer afresh. Then 45 seconds later as I tried to print something from my email, it says 'printer offline' again. I'm stumped. No idea why it will print initially then not again. ??

I really think it is your router not getting signals through to your printer.  Do you have another router to try?

Hi there,

I am having the same problems as this guy.

I have tried all you have suggested - all the updates and giving it a static IP address but it will only print once then looses the connection.

Any more thoughts?

Hi there, I'm still having trouble getting it to print more than once before it says 'printer offline'. Seems the problem exists on more than just one router. I have other systems - apple tv, Xbox connected to the router - but no luck with printer. Should I be taking this back to the shop?

What was the other router you tried?  

To Richthromp - make sure your Belkin router has updated firmware!
