Please can someone help me with this - I have installed the software fine on my mac but as soon as I disconnect the printer, it won't work wirelessly.
The wireless report seems to be perfect but the printer stubbornly refuses to be online wirelessly
Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi
Mac OS X 10.6.8 on a macbook pro
primary router is a British Telecom standard broadband router but I have linked an apple time capsule to this and am using this as the main router for all applications.

Let's use the WPS feature of both your printer and router.
FIrst, start the WPS process from the front panel of your printer. Then:
open the Apple Airport Utility
select your wireless router
select Manual Setup
select Add Wireless Clients ... from the Base Station menu
Select First Attempt then press Continue.
You have to start the Apple Add Wireless Client process within two minutes of starting the printer's WPS pushbutton method. Actually, order doesn't matter ... you can start the Add Wireless Clients process on the the Apple router first then start the printer's WPS pushbutton method.
Now your printer will be connected to your router. Now all you have to do is install the printer in System Preferences, Print & Fax by clicking the "+" button. Find the instance of your printer with 'Bonjour" next to it and click "Add" when it becomes available.

Hi
many thanks - I couldn't follow this too far as the time capsule didn't recognise the printer - even though it appeared on the MAc, I removed it and then re-added it and then it seemed to work - so no need to follow the other steps?
Strange, but now that it works that's me happy!
Thanks for your help.

Hi there,
I purchased a HP 3070A all in one printer/scanner today. I have a Mac Book Pro OS 10.7.2. I have installed the printer numerous times following instructions provided numerous times but the printer will only print once wirelessly then apparently goes "off-line". The printer is not off-line as I just successfully printed wirelessly to it. There does not seem to be any problem printing via the USB cable.
I was looking forward to having a wireless printer but having spent a whole afternoon trying to solve the problem I now regret pruchasing an HP.
Can any one help please!

Hi PrintDoc,
I also purchased a 3070a and cannot get it to print consistently over the wireless network, despite everything indicating it is connected. The printer itself says it is connected, as is the computer to the correct network and the internet runs fine. I got it to print once or twice - but not by making any adjustments. The computer sends the document to the print queue, says 'looking for printer' and then says 'printer offline' - yet it all appears connected.
I'm very confused and can't work out what to do to get it running.
MacBook Pro
OS 10.6.8
Router: NetComm NB14WN
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is likely your router.
Let's set a static IP address for the printer:
- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
- Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS.
- Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.
