Wireless install for C4580

The first install was going well until I was asked to select the SSID conection from the list. I clicked on the wrong line and entered a WAP number but it would not install the wireless connection.

I re-installed the softwear and tried again, but this time no SSID list apears to choose from. And when I do manually enter the correct SSID it is not found. How can I get the SSID list to re-appear.

It does connect via USB of course, but still have other issues;

On/off not responing. Stays on.

Wirless button not responding

Scan buttons not responding

I have seen issues for this model before so not a very good start....

First of all, HP has released a firmware update to address the issue of the printer becoming unresponsive when it goes into sleep mode. You can search for it using the Support & Drivers link above.

Also, have you tried restoring the network defaults on the printer and THEN trying to connect it wirelessly? I suggest you do this first, so press the wireless button, and select that option.

I downloaded the firmwear but it will not load.  message ' devise not installed or turned on'.  It is installed via USB, and it is turned on, as I cannot turn it off.

Any suggestions

Turn off your router, and then try restarting the printer and see if it freezes or not.

Nothing has changed.

I downloaded the full instalation files instead of using the CD. This did not work either, but got a new eror message ' this printer is not a wireless network printer'.

This is now a worry. The control panel is still frozen and the softwear is not working. What next.

Forget about the software for now. Lets get the hardware working first. Can you try disabling the wireless radio of the printer when the printer starts up as FAST as you can try?

You are right - still frozen but with a new screen

Managed to get wirless button to work.  now message  Wireless radio is now off. Please wait.......

but it has frozen again
