Wireless printing from ipad2 to hp m1217nfw

My laser jet pro m1217nfw is connected to a home network and printing wirelessly without problems from laptop and desktop, but I cannot figure out how to connect my ipad2 to the printer. The iPad cannot see the printer even though the iPad is connected to the home network, and one web site said to get updated firmware, but I couldn't find that. For a relative un-tetchy person, can someone give me a step by step describing how to print from my iPad to this printer? Thanks.

Hi,

You may print from your iPad by using the AirPrint feature.

Indeed updating the firmware is required and you may download the firmware below:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL32625/bi-95165-3/LJM1130_M1210_FW_Update.exe

1. Verify your printer is turned On.
2. From your Desktop or PC run the Firmware Update.
3. You should see your printer listed, then click update firmware.
4. Make sure not to perform any action till the update progress completes. it may take 5-6 minutes and you should see the printer in ready state again or turned Off.
5. If the printer turned off, wait for 2-3 minutes to verify any proccess been completed, then turn your printer On.

Now you may use the AirPrint feature and should see the printer available.
