The font size is changed via your software application. Increase the size using whatever software you have.

Do you have this map already printed and want to copy it to 50% larger?
Do you have this map on a PC and want to print it out 50% larger than it is?
These are 2 different things and want to make sure I understand you completely. As well, what is the Operating System of the computer you are using? This will make a difference in the methods for performing such actions.
Also, what model printer are you using?

The printer/copier is a 6520 Photosmart. I want to place a paper map in the copier section and have the final copy enlarge or magnify the font so I can read it (it's about 2pts. at this stage. I do not have the map on the P.C.

If you place the map on the top of the 6520 and select the Copy option, then you will see the selection for "Settings." In this section is a "Custom" option for resizing that will allow you to select a % increase/decrease for the copy.
This should perform the desired copy as you mentioned. I hope this helps!

I have trouble seeing such small letters and numbers when I print something from emails. the letters are smaller than that shown on the screen. Is there a way to enlarge the font size. I have Windows 7

I understand you would like to increase the font size when you print out your emails so they are legible. Can you please let me know which browser you are currently using when opening your emails ex. Internet Explorer, Safari, Google Chrome.
I will watch for your your reply so we can begin troubleshooting.
