deskjet 3050a will print wirelessly but will not scan without usb

I have just set up my new HP Deskjet 3050A series J611.  I can print wirelessly but the scanner and laptop refuse to acknowledge each other's existence!  It will scan ok connected by the usb.

Wireless connectivity is fine, the software has installed ok, what am I doing wrong?

I'm having the same issue.

I can print wirelessly absolutely fine but can only scan when hooked up via USB. I've unistalled and reinstalled the software but the problem persists.

Thanks for the post.  We might have a couple of issues on this one, but I've attached a link below that steps through some scanning options.  I might recommend taking a look at this to see if that resolves the wireless/scanning issue.

i am having this same problem with a mifi 5510L.  Scan worked on my old mifi device but now that I have upgraded to this one I can print wirelessly but scan only via usb.  I have uninstalled and re-installed several times, run every diagnostic utility I can, but the scan refuses to acknowledge a connection between my computer and printer.  I can only print wirelessly.  I really need some help with this.  Thank you.
