When I print the report, it says wireless is on and signal is good. It also says that it is connected on the printer digital screen.
The IP address is 10.0.0.4.

OK, we are making progress! The printer is connected to your network!
At this point, with the HP software reinstalled, I recommend disabling all firewalls (Windows and otherwise) and trying communicating with the printer again.
If that does not work, I think we need to get into the router and check to see that it has updated firmware. Did you find the router CD?

I disabled firewal and nothing.
I have the router CD but when I put it in I do not see an option for updated firmware. What do I need to look for?
It is the USB cable that connects the PC to the router that I can not find. I will probably need that to update, right?
Thanks so much!!

You will need an Ethernet cable to connect your PC to the router, not a USB.
When you get into the router settings the Netgear software should automatically check for new firmware.

I figured out how to get into settings using the Ethernet cable. It said there was no new software available for the router.
I ran the router program again but it said it was the same program that was already installed on my PC.
I tried running the printer software again and it is still saying that is can not find my printer. The blue light is on and it is saying it is connected.

Do you have more than the one antivirus or security system on your PC, maybe an old one that you never bothered to uninstall?
Since the router seems to be updated and is a good brand, the printer is connected, the HP software is correct, that really only leaves something on your PC like that or a corrupt setting somewhere in the operating system.

Yes, I have Trend Micro Titanium that I received when I purchased my laptop but it is not active. I also have AVG but didn't think it was active because I did not pay to update. I did not uninstall either. Do I need to do this?
Thanks!!!!

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner.
Yes, you need to always uninstall any security software BEFORE you install new ones. Use the uninstaller that comes with the software and remove all old security software.
When you remove one, restart your PC before removing another.

I uninstalled the Micro Trend but when I went into AVG, it says it is still active. So I guess I have AVG and McAfee both running. What are your suggestions now?
Thanks,
