Hi,
First, please make sure your printer have the latest firmware installed. it might be crucial:
If there is no change, verify the printer connected to the same network as your printer.
If the iPhone still fails to locate the printer, please clarify your router brand and model in order to better understand any possible cause.
Regards,
Shlomi

its not an iPhone its the iPad 2 and it was recognizing the printer and now it will not, the firmware is up to date as it tells me anyhew and have gone through so many steps I just gave up,, did find out that the printer does not hold solid on the IP address, it is up to 10.0.0.5 and it has been down to 10.0.0.2, it never holds on the same. I believe this is the problem coz my iPad is set on 10.0.0.2 and the printer when shut down and the next time turned on is a different address. I tried to changed the iPad 2 to match and can not change it unless I click on statis but then when set to that address it still will not work....Just quit!!!!! I can not for the life of me figure this out. Am not computer knowledgeable and am the first to say so.

Try turning both the iPad and the printer off, than unplug the router for 30 seconds.
Turn the router back on and turn on both of the devices.
Although the PC works, the iPad used a separate network protocols to operate and therefore it doesn't indicate anything.
If the issue persists, please clarify my previous question ![]()

When you turned your iPad 2 off...did you just push the power button (to turn off the screen)...or did you hold it down until the "Slide to power off" became available?

Hi,
By reviewing the router screenshots and user manual, it isnot perfectly clear if your router fully suppors multicasting or not. anyway it is not enabled by default.
You may try changing the following settings of your router, however if you are not sure of any of those steps, I would suggest you to contact Netgear support. also make sure to take a note of the current setup before taking any action.
- From your web browser, enter the router IP Address (the Default Gateway of the printer or the PC)
- Under Advanced, click the Lan Setup link.
- Under the LAN TCP/IP Setup section, set the Rip Version as RIP-2M
According the user manual, the specific setting should allow multicasting
(RIP-2M carries more information than RIP-1 and uses multicasting.) - Click Apply.
- Unplug the router for 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
- Turn the printer Off and then turn it back On. Allow 2-3 minutes to verify the printer reconnected to your router and check for any change.
Hope it helps,
Shlomi

I turned it completely off by holding down until the slidebar showed and slid it over til it went off.
