Re: hp deskjet 3052a Can't connect wirelessly

So the XP unit prints and scans OK?  That indicates the problem is with the Vista and 7 units.  Make sure they are on the right network.  Do you have a security system on them?  Try to disable the security system's firewall and retest

Re: hp deskjet 3052a Can't connect wirelessly

Yes main pc (XP) is working with printer fine.  Already uninstalled and reinstalled several times trying the antivirus and firewall both enabled and disabled on both laptops.  Yes all on same network as far as I can see...only one ever set up.  How can I check to be sure?

Everytime the cd is installed on both additional laptops it fully installs all steps 1-5 but when gets to last stage where the 'checking network environment' message comes up and the green bar loads fully, it just freezes at that on both laptops (1xVista 1xWindows7) I left it overnight last night!

Many thanks

Re: hp deskjet 3052a Can't connect wirelessly

Does the XP machine have an Ethernet cable connection to your router and the other two wireless?

What router are you using?  Can you get into it to change its settings?  If so, check for "client isolation" or "wireless isolation" or the like and make sure it is disabled.

Re: hp deskjet 3052a Can't connect wirelessly

The Belkin may be the problem.  Do you have the CD that came with the router?  That is the easiest way to change the settings.  Maybe look on the Belkin website for the manual?  While you are there, check for any firmware updates for your router.

Have you restarted the router by pulling its power plug momentarily?

Hi, I have eventually found how to get into the router settings and whilst was there checked for updated firmware, but it was already the most up-to-date.

I went through all the options but couldn't recognise what would be similar to client isolation, or wireless isolation so I have copied and pasted the list of options that were available.

I have also unplugged and reset the router as you mentioned, I have then retried all the things had already tried, uninstalling cd and reinstalling etc, but still no success. please advise what you suggest I do next.

Many thanks

Re: hp deskjet 3052a Can't connect wirelessly

The Isolation setting may be buried in one of these menus, but let's not bother with it now.

I still think the Belkin is the issue here.  Is there any way you could borrow another brand router to try?

Re: hp deskjet 3052a Can't connect wirelessly

The solution is very simple why not allow to enter the dhcp server of the router. Then the printer gets a valid IP-address and all window, mac or linux users can enjoy the printer.

Seems HP is losing his simple solutions like we got in the good old times :-)
