officejet 6500 wireless reset?

My husband messed up our printer by trying to connect his work laptop to home printer. I sure could use a hard reset. Anyone know the trick? We have an XP laptop officejet 6500 E709n

Press the Setup Button>Network Setup>Restore Network Defaults. That should reset the network settings so that you can connect the printer to another wireless network.

no buttons will press, cancel light just flashes and i get diff errors like replace ink, or out of paper when it doesn't apply. I'm looking for a HARD reset....but thanks

Unplug power from both the wall and the printer for 5 minutes.  After that, hold the # and 6 keys while powering back on.

That operation performs a partial reset.  Did not solve chronic problems.

OK, do the same thing with but use # and 9 keys.  This is a HARD reset.

Thank you for this reset. The control panel had locked up solid, and none of the keys would respond until I had carried out this reset proceedure.

how to full fatory rest for my Officejet 6500? this machine has been an all in one mess since day one, it is simply a single seater plane sold as A 380?

I have tried the #6 and #9 to reset my printer, but it keeps coming back with the error message "Ink System Failure". I left it off (unplugged) overnight, tried again this morning. 

Once it goes into this error message (no message #), no buttons will work.

What else can I try?
