Re: "HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete"

[ Edited ]

Well I'll be. . . .I got to the command line as an administrator and just ran regsvr32 hpqebpd2.dll with no path and it loaded and worked and the scanner is working!!!

Thank you very much for your help. Taking your leads and applying a little ingenuity got me there!

Now the only remaining question. . .

Why would HP sell a piece of hardware with a software package the takes 3 weeks of fairly intensive research and work to install???

Re: "HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete"

this is old, but i ran into scanning issue/solution center will not work crap and worked around like this. Open embedded web server, ip whatever you assigned or ip you are using, click scan tab on web server, copy link from url and create web shortcut on desktop. If i need to scan just use shortcut and hit scan.

Re: "HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete"

It's great that so many here is trying to help with all kinds of strange solutions. But why the F*** doesn't HP do something about this? It's obvious that it's the program that isn't working. I have both Windows XP and 7 running, and everytime I need to print or whatever, I'll have to fix this problem. Wake up HP.

What I do is this:

"Start menu/All Programs/HP/whatever printer you have/add a device"

It'll install my printer (again), and I can use it till next time.

Re: "HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete"

This - among other solutions - doesn't work.  Rather, it works but after a few days the printer disappears and I get the same msg again that HP SS can't start.  System is a Lenovo Laptop w/Windows 7 64 bit.  This problem is beyond frustrating - HP first builds low quality SW and then doesn't (or can't) fix it.  Solution Center has given many problems in the past.  QUestion:  When, HP, are you going to fix this - FOR GOOD?

Re: "HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete"

Win 7HP

hp psc 4795 wirelessly on network

I too have recently (after months of no problems) started getting occasional issues with this '... not complete' situation.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, fixed for awhile.

i have just 'added device' with some success sometimes, if it sees my printer.

Most recent occurance I rebooted my router and it all started working again.

but I agree with anyone in here that says HP SOFTWARE SUCKS, what a joke.  I also am looking at a different brand for next PSC strictly because of their bloated buggy POS software.

wake up HP!

Re: "HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete"

Using LAN conmnection to router.  PC to printer OK.   Scanning to file on PC cannot recognise PC.  Solution Centre will not load and hence impossible to control scanning from PC

Re: "HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete"

This is xomplete and utter BS.

Why?

Because I've had my printer, the HP Photosmart All-in-one C309a installed for like 3 yrs.. Now,. all of a sudden today, I go to open the HP Solution Center on my Laptop which is running Vista Home 32 bit and where the printer is connected wirelessly via Bluetooth.

Up until today everything is working fine then all of a sudden I'm getting the message that's in the thread I'm replying to and that people have been getting and gotten since 2009.

Why in the hell am I just now having this happen? Why all of a sudden am I now having issues when everything was working fine?

I'm so sick of HP doing updates and screwing things up.

GET ON THE BALL AND FIX THIS HP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: "HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete"

I thought I'd better add that I have version 13.0 of the Solution Center and it was installed on 3/17/10. I was led, in searching this problem, to another update that supposedly fixes this problem, and that came out on 6/24/10. Well, when I downloaded and tried to extract and install, it said I didn't need it. I'd also add that it said you have to have the previous version or this update wouldn't work.

Ask me, I don't know. Just know it didn't work. Nothing does, Looks like I now have to try the complete uninstall and re-install. And as we all know, that's just a ton o' fun.

I'm so sick and tired of companies not hiring and having competent people with the ability to fix something instead of making things worse!!!!
