"The printer is not connected."

My brand new OfficeJet 6600 connected successfully to my wireless network, and my Mac sees the print driver. But when I try to print, the Print Queue says, "The printer is not connected." I'm using Apple Airport Extreme and Mac OS 10.7. I restarted everything but nothing helps.

Re: "The printer is not connected."

Never mind. I finally got it to work by reinstalling the drivers. Not sure why HP requires a brand new printer to be installed TWICE before it will work. Pretty shoddy.

Re: "The printer is not connected."

i have an Officejet 6500 E709n and ever since i bought a Mac Book Pro, the printer has its moments, one minute it connects to my laptop, the next minute it doesnt connect to it. its temperamental. i have uninstalled it and installed it so many times ive lost count!

the only time it works is when i have it connected via USB but i cant have it connected via USB all the time because i shouldnt have to connect it every time i want to print. it has wireless, so why cant it work?

the message it comes up with is "printer is not connected. Looking for printer"... the printer is always on, so why doesnt it connect?

its temperamental. one minute it works (without me doing anything) and other times it doesnt work.
i dont touch anything when it is connected nor do i touch anything when its not connected.

Re: "The printer is not connected."

I have the same issue with my mac.  It will print maybe 1 out of 6 times wirelessly.  It works with the usb cable and if i keep turning the printer off and on.  I also did change the channel on my router, because i'm too lazy to get up and push off and it works if i change the channel until the next print.  I am currently using my HP printer and even bought an Epson with Airprint feature and have the same issue with only my macbook Pro.  My windows laptops have had no issues with both printers.  I thought it was the printer at first but i'm not going to keep the new one if i can't get it to work correctly thru the network on the old and new printer.  Even my iPad and iPhone wouldn't work with the Airprint feature.

I called Epson support 3 tiimes, Apple twice and Centurylink in oneday and they couldn't figure it out either on my new printer.  No one has an answer, i'm using Mac OS X, v 10.7.4 on a Zyxel modem from Centurylink

Is there something that needs to changed on the router to allow printing from the new mac OS, i have the no software updates, updated my router and printer drivers, i'm at a loss.  Please Help????

Re: "The printer is not connected."

I have the same issue. "Printer notr connected" The printer says it is connected to the netwrok. Sometimes if I reset the WPS and reconect the printer to the network the computer will see it and print maybe once (if im lucky) and then return to "printer not connected". I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, I downloaded the MAC OS Hp print scan software as well. NONE OF THIS WORKS. Please help
