weird printer connection issues

using the HP Photosmart B110 windows XP off desktop computer. linksys router, WAG160N If my computer is on and then i turn the printer on, the computer doesn't see the printer. the printer is connected to the network (and prints the test sheet to prove it) i have to restart the computer, and then they see each other. however, that was annoying, i was able to deal with it. now, i've just scanned a picture, and after saving it, they can no longer see each other! turning the printer off then on never solves this. i'm sure turning the computer off and then on will continue to let me scan one thing at a time but that is unacceptable! any help would be much appreciated.

Re: weird printer connection issues

for anyone else with a similar problem: had to use a fixed ip for the printer (using dhcp) but that was a router issue rather than hp! all seems well. ty again for the reply
