Re: wireless connection for officejet 4500

So sorry you having the issue with reconnecting you 4500 printer, but this issue is fairly easy to resolve.

1. Check to make sure you know what network your connecting to.

2. Make sure you SSID and the passphase for the router are correct

3. Re-Run the Wireless Setup Wizard on the front panel of the printer to try to reconnect to the network

4. IF it connects just re-run the printer software and choose the wireless option and you should be able to connect to the network.

5. If the issue persist the network name or passphase could be an issue because the passphase is very case sensitive to it must be correct or there may be a firewall blocking the connection as well as antivirus software can block and install over the network as well depending on the security setting.

Re: wireless connection for officejet 4500

My 4580life is an older model and does not have the touchscreen front. The install cd that came with it is not reading properly either. Any ideas on how to change the network and passphrase the printer is trying to use?

Re: wireless connection for officejet 4500

Well on this printer you go into the front panel setup which you would hit the setup rench symbol to the right of the machine than find network  and then under network setting you will see wireless setup wizard when you select that option then to put in the passphase you do it like texting you keep pushing the number until it turn into a letter or number for you so it like texting when you put in the passphase.  Now the passphase was setup when you got the new router so if you don't remember it contact the router company or it may be on the router and you put in the front panel like texting. I attached a document on how to reconnect to the network. Maybe this step by step process will help you out on resolvinfg the issue your having.
