officejet 7110 & officejet8630
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a offjet 8630 and 7110 in my small office wired connected to the network. After i download the drivers and software to both only the one i last installed will work even if i pick the other while in the print menu. i.e. I download software for the 8630 and everything works then download the software for the 7110 and only the 7110 will print even when i select the 8630 in the print screen the 7110 will print the page.  or vise versa. When i run print doctor it will not print a test page but will print an internal test page and tells me theres a problem with software and to unistall and reinstall the software. After I do that then the other one is the only one that prints. Suggestions?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software for the printer that doesn't work following these steps:

1. Uninstall the software in your computer
2. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)

The following resource will help you :

http://123.hp.com/us/en/

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

3. Install the FULL feature “Saved” software

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

If you are not sure how to do this, the following resource will walk you through the steps:

How to Uninstall Download & Reinstall a Printer software

Hope that helps!

Hi,

Can you try this Uninstaller from Microsoft and then reinstall the FULL feature software again?

Let us know if that works!

Hi @phil7071

Which printer did you set as Default?

The Default ptinter would be the "Chosen" one.  IF you select the other printer in the Software drop down list for printing, it should print.

Thanks.

After i unistalled and reinstalled the 8630 was default and it would print to the 8630 even if i selected the 7110 in the print screen in word. I changed the default to 7110 and now it will not print to either. Cahnged default back to 8630 and now no matter what printer i select in word it prints to the 8630.

Hi,

Can you try using a TCP/IP port for the 7110?

Create a TCP IP port

1. Print a Configuration Page to get the printer's IPv4 address (you can also tap on the wireless icon on the Front panel of your Printer to get the IP address)
2. On your PC, go to Control Panel, from Devices and Printers, right click the printer and left click Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.
3. Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.
4. Type in the proper IP address for the printer.

This video resource will show you how to do it:

Create & Use TCP IP port

Note that you can ALWAYS revert back to the original port that the HP software installed by selecting the HP port under the Ports tab (in Printer Properties)

Let us know if that works
