HP 4630 Officejet
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

HP 4630 gets printer error. Have to cancel doc, shut off printer and restart. It is WI-FI connected.

Then it prints until I change input. Then error occurs and shutdown and restart is necessary.

FAX and SCAN are working properly.

Thanks for using the HP Forums. Can you try the following:

Please Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR) tool to diagnose and fix your problem

Hope that helps.

Serendipitously  I did run this (HPPS) program in its entirety since I posted. It did fix my problem. I did have the laptop memory disk replaced with an electronic storage done by a professional. Apparently this (or something else) changed my I.P. address.

During the re-installation process, the (HPPS) program asks me to press the Wi-Fi button on my printer. I did and the I.P address and other info was displayed on my printer screen. Then I was prompted to enter the I.P address which I did. I then discovered the I.P. address had changed. The procedure compleed teh reinstallation process nad ikt now works.

Incidentally this (HP 4630 Officejat) is a magnificent machine! I know it is out of production, but it is fully featured including FAX and a document feeder. It has a full function keypad with an array of options.

For my purposes, it is great! The print and FAX qualities are flawless.

Thanks for what would have been the 'REAL' solution!
