C7280
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have been given a HP C7280 printer from my parents that they no longer need.

I brought it to my house and connected the printer to the network and installed the software/drivers needed. When the software tries to find the printer on the wireless network it cant find anything.  I have entered the IP the printer shows on the screen when i look at the network details - but still no luck. Everything i try draws a blank.

The printer worked perfectly at my parents house and i could print from my android phone, but at my house i am having no such luck. I was wondering if it could be to do with my router? I am a Virgin media customer and use their home hub.

Any ideas?

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Photosmart C7280 printer. I understand that you are unable to connect your printer to the computer and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

  • Restart the computer, printer, and router.
  • Manually connect the printer to your network.
  • Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
  • Temporarily disable firewall software on the computer.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the HP driver and software.

Click here to refer the document and perform troubleshooting steps to fix this issue.

If the issue is resolved and you appreciate my help,
