I recently purchased HP Envy 5660 and Macbook Air.  When I try to print, it prints 1 or 2 pages and then stops and won't print the rest of the pages at that time.  The messages are :paper try is empty" and/or "printer not responding".  The remainder of the pages will print out hours later.  I need to be able to print all pages immediately.  What is the problem?

Terrific description and great description of the issue before posting.  Kudos to you on that score. 🙂  You are a valued HP customer and it is paramount to assist you here. I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you. 🙂

 

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this.

  • Has it printed before correctly on the same computer?
  • Did you uninstall and reinstall the printer software?
  • Is it a wireless, Wired or USB connection?  
  • Did you try to make copies directly from the printer without any intervention from the computer?

For starters, please try to copy directly from the printer without any communication from the computer. If it copies fine, please follow the steps from these links.Try all the prescribed steps from this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-ENVY-5600-e-All-in-One-Printer-series/6809225/model/6809226/d... This should do the trick for you.

If it does not copy fine, please try the second link directly without going to the first link. try all the steps.
