Photosmart 6520
macOS 10.12 Sierra

I'm trying to download the latest software and drivers for my Photosmart. These are contained in HP-Inkjet-SW-OSX-Mavericks-v12.34.44.dmg. Unfortunately, the download is really quick until about the 80-90MB mark, and then it stops. I've tried several times, both this weekend and last.

I have fast internet, I've downloaded from HP before and I have no problem downloading from other websites.

Does anyone know of any issues?

Thanks

Shaun

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

The Riddle_Decipher is at your service.

As I Understand you have been having trouble downloading the drivers for your MacOS,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help you, although, to provide an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern:

Have you attempted using the MacOS driver using the apple software update?

Is your internet okay? did you try downloading anything else that downloads without these issues? perhaps try downloading via a wired network?

Also, when you say it stops while downloading, do you mean downloading it or installing it on your computer?

If you haven't done that yet, here are a few things you can do:

Install the best available HP print driver and software on your Mac using Apple Software Update. Before installing the software, turn on the printer and make sure it is connected to the computer you want to print or scan from, either with a USB cable or through your local Wi-Fi or wired network.

See the Frequently asked questions in this document for more information, including how to scan using this driver.

 NOTE:

Where is the download button? Your HP drivers automatically download and install through Apple Software Update, but if you want to manually download drivers, go to HP Printer Drivers for macOS and OS X Mavericks and later (in English) or HP Printer Drivers for OS X Mountain Lion and OS X Lion (in English) on the Apple support site.

Install the HP driver with Apple Software Update

To install the HP driver through Apple Software Update, create a new print queue on the Mac.

  1. Click the Apple menu, then click System Preferences.

  2. Depending on your operating system version, click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners.

Let me know how that pans out,

Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,

It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.
