After weeks for non-functioning NEW 8600 and finally reinstalling system software on my computer, I find that everything works until I install the HP software for the 8600. Immediately the printer works and Internet Explorer longer works, unless I allow HP updates. Then the printer won't print, scan, or anything AND Internet Explorer fails. Uninstalling and reinstalling the HP software but disallowing HP updates worked until Microsoft determined I needed an automatic update and then the problems reoccurred. Seven weeks and hundreds of dollars in tech work has not solved this problem. (Incidentally the printer works fine with my new laptop using Windows 7, but it definitely cannot function with Windows XP. What do I try next?

How do I change the scanner resolution for scanning to pdf? 70 is a little fuzzy and 200 makes the files too large. Is there anyway to set it for about 125?
What application(s) are you using the scan? The HP Solutions Center allows your to specify what resolution you need. Heres a screenshot:

I have incoming faxes forwarded to my email address. When I view or print the downloaded fax it is in Landscape mode instead of Portrait. As a result it is stretched and do not look like the actual fax. I have reviewed all the setting and do not know why they are forwarded that way. The paper copy is in the correct format; however, when it is emailed to me it is in landscape mode. Please advise. Travis
