I have an HP Photosmart 2570 All-in-One printer which has been working perfectly for printing out documents for a long time. I have WINDOWS 10 now and the scanner doesn't work anymore. When I press "START SCAN" on the printer the exclamation mark flashes with the message "No scan options. Refer to device documentation to troubleshoot".

 

This is a retired device so the driver software is not available from the HP website.

 

I have lost the CD that came with the printer unfortunately. 

 

Can anyone help to make the scanner work or do I need to buy a new one? 

 

I will eventually upgrade - any recommendations for a small printer (similar or smaller to the 2570) that scans/prints?

Hi,

First be sure to turn the printer off or unplug the cable.

Right click the Strt menu and select Control Panel.

Click Devices and Printers, if there is any existing 2570 icon right click it and select Remove Device.

 

Next download and install the following software:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL30951/mp-110165-3/AIO_CDB_Net_Full_Win_WW_140_408-5.exe

 

Once the installation guide you to plug the USB, power on the printer or connect the USB and follow the installation, then try scanning from the HP Solution Center software.
