I see a pop up showing "HP Update" on a blue background at the bottom right of my computer screen. I want to get rid of it but it'd not responding to single or double or right clicks. Part of the text on the right is hidden so I'm wondering if a knob fo action is missing from the page too. Please help me get rid of this annoying popup that shows up anytime I turn my computer on.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @hpfan7766 ,

I read about the HP Update pop up you're seeing on your computer. I have an idea that might help. I would first need to know which operating system you're running.

Which Windows Operating System am I running?

Hello Mohsen:)

Thank you for your information! Here is what I would suggest.

Go into your Control Panel.

  1. Click Start, Control Panel, Uninstall a Program
  2. When the list populates and shows you everything installed on your PC, look for HP Update and uninstall it.

That should get rid of the pop up! Let me know how it goes:)

Thanks for the proposed solution but I didnt have to use it because the pop-up had magically vanished when I turned on my computer just as magically it had appeared to begib with! I wonder if it has something to do with Windows update that takes place on my comouter (supplied by my employer) automatically.

So is the pop up from HP or a scam?
