I recently uninstalled the software and drivers for my printer as suggested here.  I installed the most current full feature software and drivers from HP Customer Care.  Now the program won't stop running even after it has completely installed. The pictured disk won't stop running and the window won't close.

Hey @David146,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I see that you are having some issues with stopping some HP installation software from running on your Windows 10 PC. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once done:

  1. On your PC press the CTRL, ALT, and DELETE keys at the same time.
  2. Click on Start Task Manager.
  3. Select the HP Software from the list.
  4. Click on End Task.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you are able to resolve your issue, please click on Accept Solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.

Thank you for your advice.  I finally found what was running in the task manager (HP Installation Setup) and clecked on "end task" and that eleviated the problem.
