Thanks for all your efforts.  However, the HP Scan and Capture program doesn't seem to be compatible with the PhotoSmart either.  I have it for the new printer (OfficeJet Pro).  I downloaded  it for PhotoSmart and haven't been successful with it.  But, I will try it again.  I'm very disappointed that HP doesn't support the Solution Center.  It worked much better than Scan and Capture.  Thanks again.

Hello, @TeddieKuma

The Scan and capture should work well with your Photosmart printer. If you face any issues while using the HP Scan and capture, then try the steps listed below:

  • Unplug the USB cable from the printer and computer if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Photosmart printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now, uninstall the HP Scan and capture app.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Now click on http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL29008/mp-109701-3/PS_AIO_06_B209a-m_140_408-5.exe to download and install the printer drivers.
  • Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
  • Restart the PC and then install the HP Scan and capture from here: http://bit.ly/2o6W4hQ

That should get the app working. Let me know!

Good luck 🙂
