I get the following errors when trying up install the Windows update and the HP software for the Evvy 5540. I had done everything using the tool and still failure.
I previously had an Envy 7500 installed on my laptop (someone else's printer I no longer use) and I didn't uninstal that software first. I did uninstall it after the initial install failed, and still same results.
PLEASE HELP!!!

I followed all your procedures (removed all HP Software, Printers and drivers), and the software still failed to install with the same error message.
What now??
Thanks,
Mike

It was very difficult to find a support number to call, but I finally found one and after about 10mins on hold, the Tech got on the phone and remoted into my laptop and began troubleshooting. It took over two huors, but he finally determiiined that there was some corruption in my Windows 10 envrionment, which was causing the regular window update related to the printer fail as well.
I asked him to check the registery and he said HP isn't supposed to do it, but he was nice enough to look anyway, and found some DLL files were missing. In the meantime he created a workaroud with a direct TCP connection to the printer, to enable me to print without the driverr. In addition, he downloaded the "HP Capture and Scan" Wihdows 10 program for that functionality to work.
At least I can print and scan now 🙂 If I want the native HP printer software, I'll have to figure out the Windows issue and hope I can utilize and MS utility they have for failing backups and not have to do restore...
Thanks,
Mike
