I ran the install disc and printer tells me that I am connected. wireless light is steady. pc cant find printer.

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP forum.
Can you download and install the FULL feature printer software from HP for your operating system:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-4500-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5304875/mod...
Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.
Do let us know if the downloaded Win 10 software works.

Thank you for trying to help. unfortunately, I am 71 years old and not the sharpest thing in the world when it comes to things like that. I grew up without even a TV. I had the disc that came with the printer, I thought that would work. I didnt realize that changing the router would change the password. I ended up calling tech support and finally got it together after 3 hours. thank you again.
