HP PageWide MFP 377dw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

For the first day or so my new PageWide MFP 377dw printer went into standby and woke up as necessary without any problems.

Now it never enters standby, but remains fully 'on' all of the time.

Yes, I've tried turning it off and on again.

I've also tried different standby duration settings using both the front panel and the EWS. No matter what I try it sits there wide-awake all day.

Any suggestions?

Glyn.

Hi Glyn,

Is it connected to yor phone line?

May you see any difference by unplugging the phone cable from the MFP?

If so, I suggest trying a different phone cable or check a different phone socket and check for any difference..

You were quite right.

I'd tried setting the fax up using an existing, but as it turned out inadequate, phone extension cable.

I got hold of a new telephone/fax extension cable, the fax now works and the printer goes to sleep correctly.

Thanks for the suggestion.
