HP 88620 All-in-One
Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite

Hello,

My Hp8620 has been working perfectly until yesterday.

When printing any document (.pdf, .doc,.xls even from firefox) for example the default print settings are automatically set to horizontal and paper format is on "other" so when I print it shows on part of the text.

I have re-installed but this is not fixing the problem.  I can of course set it manully and set the settings to use those from the last time, but that is not the goal and the printer must work for everyone in the house.

Would be great if someone could offer any help this issue.

Hey @rallydriv3r,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I understand that you are having some issues with printing from your Mac OSX 10.10 machine to your Officejet 8620 e-All-in-One Printer. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure the printer was plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once done:

  1. If your printer is connected to your Mac through a USB cable, remove it.
  2. Close all programs you have open.
  3. Click on your Apple icon, System Preferences, and Printers and Scanners.
  4. Hold down the control key and click on the icon of your printer on the left.
  5. Click on Reset Printing System.

Now if you removed the USB cable, connect it. If not:

  1. Click on the plus icon in the lower left corner.
  2. Select your printer from the list.
  3. Click on the box labeled Use and select your printer from the list.
  4. Click on Add.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you can print correctly, please click on Accept Solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.
