Hey there! @timido68, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand your printer is not getting recognized by your PC.

Don't worry I'd love to help you out.

Do you get any error message when connected to your PC?

Are you able to copy from your printer?

Please provide the printer model and operating system you are running on your PC to assist you better.

Try the steps recommended below.

unplug the printer from your PC and Reset the print system.

Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners then select the Print tab.

Then right or control click your printer on the left then click   Reset Print System

Then restart your Mac and your printer to test.

If the issue still persists uninstall the printer from your MAC and reinstall the printer driver.

Click Finder in the Dock.
In the menu bar, click Go, click Applications, then open the HP or Hewlett-Packard folder.
If HP Uninstaller is in the folder, double click it, then follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the software.
If HP Uninstaller is not in the folder, continue to the next step.
Click and drag the HP or Hewlett Packard folder to the Trash icon in the Dock.
In the menu bar, click Go, click Go to Folder, type /Library/Printers, then click Go.
The Printers folder opens.
Click and drag the HP or Hewlett Packard folder to the Trash icon in the Dock.
Restart the Mac.
Right-click or Ctrl + click the Trash icon, then select Empty Trash.

Please update the printer software using this link.

Let me know if this works!

Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂
