When I click Windows Update button to get the PSC 1300 to show I get Select Device popup: "Windows was unable to get a list of devices from Windows Update.  Please try again later."  I tried again later with the same result.

I just tried it on a Windows 7 machine and it took fifteen minutes on my slow 1.5 Mb/s DSL line.  You might try shutting your computer down, rebooting it and try again.  Also, first use alt-tab to go through the windows, make sure there is not a dialog box waiting for a response.

If you need to use the Microsoft Catalog site the driver will be found here (you will need to use IE), but as I said before it is rather cumbersome.  Do you have a 32 bit or 64 bit version of Windows 7?

The troubleshooting steps in the post here may help resolve the "unable to get a list of devices" message on your Windows 7 machine.  If you cannot get Windows Update to work it is possible to download the drivers directly from Microsoft's Catalog site, but the process for that is rather complex.  Post back here if the troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue.

Thanks for the quick response!  I tried the 7 steps.  No longer getting the error message, but I've let the "Windows is updating the list of printers" run for the last 45 minutes and it's still running per Task Manager.  FYI - My download speed is only 5mb.

hI, Bob.  Checked PC again two hours later last night and the list was there.  Finished adding printer just now.  Rebooted and I successfully sent something to the printer.  THANKS SO MUCH!!

P.S.  Mine is a 64 bit.  THANKS AGAIN!

I am glad you got this working - it is much easier using Windows Update rather than using the Windows Catalog site.
