I need to remove an HP OfficeJet Pro 8625 (8620) printer from a laptop computer.  The printer is a shared Ethernet network device.  I assume that I need to remove both the printer itself (via the Windows Control Panel) as well as the associated software (HP drivers).  What is the proper sequence for this (remove printer first or remove HP software first)?  Is there anything else I need to do?  I want to completely remove the OfficeJet from the laptop, like it was never there.  I then will reinstall the printer from scratch on the laptop.

Thanks for your assistance with this question.

Hi,

Remove the HP Software first from the Control Panel > Unisntall a Program.

The software removal will most likely remove any existing device as well.

Only if any queue of the printer remains under Devices and Printers select Remove Device to remove it.
