Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Since installing windows 10 on my desktop computer the scanning function is no longer available.

I have used HP support assistant to update the software and the update wont install, I get to the licence agreement and the install just stops. I have turned of the firewall and virus protection and nothing works.

Please assist with this issue.

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software following these steps:

1. Uninstall the software in your computer

 

Can you try this Uninstaller from Microsoft and then reinstall the FULL feature software again?

2. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)

 

The following resource will help you :

http://123.hp.com/us/en/

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

3. Install the FULL feature “Saved” software

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

Unfortunately the solution did not work. I followed all the steps you listed.

I have always been able to print but am unable to scan to PC.

Once i have agreed to the software licence the install just stops and doesnt give any messages as to why.
