Issue:

I have had my faulty printer replaced by HP. Now when I scan from the printer control pannel to my PC it only gives the option to Scan as JPEG; and I'm no longer prompted to insert more pages.

I would like to continue scanning multiple pages in PDF format.

Same laptop as worked with the old printer.

Steps to recreate:

Reinstalled software and drivers from support.hp.com for OfficeJet Pro 8630

Hello @Marcus1231,

Thanks for the reply!

You can use the ADF to automatically scan both sides of the paper. HP Scan will work for PDF files as well 🙂

Please let me know whether that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a Solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.

Good luck & have a great week ahead 🙂

Hello, @Marcus1231 – Hope you are well 🙂

Thanks for reaching out. This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips.

I see that you are having issues while scanning multiple pages using your Officejet 8630 printer. You have mentioned that you are trying to scan from the printer control panel. Did you try using the HP Scan software from the computer?

Try the steps below:

  • Insert the pages in the ADF (Automatic document feeder) of your printer.
  • Now open the “HP Scan” on your computer. You can double-click on the printer icon on your desktop to get the HP Scan if it’s not a shortcut on your desktop.
  • You can check this video for instructions: http://bcove.me/p1clcd0f

Alternatively, please check http://hp.care/2f9JtJe for detailed steps on HP scan.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

Cheers 🙂

Thanks DVortex,

The video lead me to realise that Scan to comuter was no turned on. Once that was enabled all was good.

Thanks again,

Marcus
