HP ENVY 5530
Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

I replaced the black ink cartridge...the color did not need to be replaced.  Ink Cartridge Probem The following ink cartridges must be replaced.  message appeared and it seems to be stuck there.  I followed the advice of hp forums on the internet but the problem was not resolved.  I was able to copy a sheet but the lower portion of the page was not aligned and the writing/ink was smudged.

 

Please advise.

I see that you are having some issues with a cartridge error on your Envy 5530 e-All-in-One Printer. I can help you with that.


To start, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once done, this document outlines how to troubleshoot ink cartridge errors with your printer.


If after following the above you are still unable to clear the error, a cartridge needs to be replaced. You can contact HP Support by clicking on this link and filling out the form at the bottom.
