I am trying to install my new printer. When powered up, the display shows this message: "Ther is a problem with the printhead." I have downloaded all the software and drivers, installed the ink cartridges that came with the printer, followed the troubleshooting online, and still the message will not go away. I registered the product and tried to contact HP support , only to get the message that this device is no longer supported by HP- IT'S BRAND NEW!!!!!!!!! I can find no phone # for teh support so I am trying this forum. If no help, I will just return it. Very frustrating.

So after I posted my problem with the printer: "There is a problem with the printhead", I was able to get through to HP customer care. The nice guy on the phone had me go through all the steps in the troubleshooting that I had already done, but in the end, they sent me a new printer. My new printer installed without a problem and I love it.
PS: My problem in initially contacting them had to do with the interpretation of the 0 or O in the serial number. It is impossible to tell if it is the number 0, or the letter O in a sequence of letters and numbers. It does make a difference when you are submitting Model #s and Serial #s. When it occurred to me to try that chnge, I got connected to HP Customer Care right away.
